8.5x32 Diamond C FMAX-HDT 210 Gooseneck Hydraulic Dovetail Equipment
Trailer Specs
8.5 x 32 Diamond C FMAX-HDT 210 25K Equipment Trailer – Ready To Work!
KEY STANDARD FEATURES
The 2026 Diamond C FMAX-210 Hydraulic Dovetail (HDT) is built on the Fleetneck 2.0 platform, featuring the patented Engineered Beam technology. This trailer is designed for heavy-duty hauling with a GVWR of 25,000 lbs
The hallmark of this model is the 12-foot fully automatic hydraulic dovetail. It offers a shallow 12.5° approach angle for easy loading. It is rated to lift and carry up to 10,000 lbs (distributed) and includes a wireless remote and a 5-amp integrated charger.
Diamond C uses a 16" Low Profile Engineered Beam (Grade 80 or Grade 100 steel in newer iterations). This design allows the frame to be stronger yet lighter than traditional I-beams by tall-forming the steel to put strength exactly where it's needed.
Standard on models 30' and longer, a torque tube/sway control pipe runs the length of the trailer to prevent frame twist and improve stability when hauling tall or off-center loads.
The trailer comes standard with dual 12,000 lb drop-leg jacks. Note: While many 2026 dealer stock units are upgraded to 20K hydraulic jacks (the Pacesetter Edition), the base standard remains the heavy-duty manual drop-legs.
Equipped with 6-leaf heavy-duty slipper roller springs for the two 10,000 lb axles. This system provides better durability and a smoother ride compared to traditional eye-to-eye springs.
A large, curved diamond plate storage box is built into the gooseneck. It features a gas-shock assisted lid and provides ample room for chains, binders, and the hydraulic pump system.
Included are the "Fleetneck" retractable front steps on both sides. These tuck away to prevent damage in tight turns or low-clearance areas and are paired with mid-turn signal steps for safety.
Wheel and Tire Specifications
The FMAX-210 uses a dually configuration to support its 25K GVWR:
Tire Size: ST235/80R16
Ply Rating: 14-Ply Load Range G (Radial)
The Diamond C FMAX-210 with the Hydraulic Dovetail is widely considered the "Swiss Army Knife" of heavy-duty trailers. It bridges the gap between a standard flatbed and a specialized equipment hauler.
Mixed Fleet Operations (Construction)If you need to haul a skid steer in the morning and a load of lumber or 20-foot sticks of rebar in the afternoon, this is your trailer.
-
The Advantage: Unlike flip-over ramps that leave a "bump" or take up deck space, the hydraulic dovetail levels out to give you a full flat loading surface for palletized freight.
This trailer is a lifesaver for operators who load and unload 5+ times a day (e.g., equipment rental deliveries or hotshotting).
-
The Advantage: No manual lifting of heavy 80-lb ramps. You can deploy or retract the tail in seconds via wireless remote without ever leaving the cab of your truck if necessary.
The 12-foot tail creates a very shallow 12.5° approach angle. This makes it the premier choice for:
-
Scissor Lifts: Which often high-center on standard ramps.
-
Forklifts: Which require a smooth, low-incline transition.
-
Paving Equipment: Such as small rollers or pavers that have minimal ground clearance.
For farmers moving tractors with rear implements (like mowers or discs), the hydraulic tail is "load-bearing."
-
The Advantage: You can park the rear tires of a heavy tractor right on the dovetail. Since it’s rated to carry 10,000 lbs while in the transport position, you gain valuable deck length that you'd lose with traditional folding ramps.
Because of the Engineered Beam (which is lighter than standard I-beams), the "tare weight" (empty weight) of the trailer is lower.
The Advantage: A lighter trailer means a higher legal payload capacity on your CDL or non-CDL logs, allowing you to get the most out of that 25,000 lb GVWR.
WHY DIAMOND C? (The FMAX-210 Advantage)
ENGINEERED BEAM vs. STANDARD I-BEAM Most trailers use heavy, "off-the-shelf" mill-rolled beams. Diamond C uses a patented Engineered Beam with variable depth. It is taller where the load is heaviest and tapered where it’s not, making it stronger yet lighter than the competition.
HIGH-TENSILE STEEL vs. MILD STEEL While competitors use standard A36 carbon steel, the FMAX-210 utilizes Grade 80 and Grade 100 steel. This "high-memory" steel is designed to flex under heavy loads and spring back to its original shape, preventing the permanent frame "sag" seen on cheaper trailers.
ULTRA-LOW APPROACH vs. STEEP RAMPS Standard trailers often have a 15° to 20° climb. The 12-foot hydraulic dovetail on the FMAX-210 provides a shallow 12.5° approach angle, allowing low-clearance scissor lifts and forklifts to load without high-centering.
INCREASED PAYLOAD vs. ADDED DEAD WEIGHT Because the Engineered Beam design reduces the trailer's empty weight (tare weight) without sacrificing strength, you get a higher legal payload capacity. You're hauling more equipment and less "dead steel."
AUTO-LOCKING TAIL vs. MANUAL LATCHES Forget jumping out of the truck to pull pins or flip manual latches. This 2026 model features an automatic locking mechanism—just raise the tail and the hydraulic system secures it for transport instantly.
BLACKWOOD RUNNERS vs. SLICK LUMBER Unlike standard wood dovetails that become ice rinks when wet, this trailer features Blackwood rubber-infused runners for maximum traction with metal-tracked equipment.
